DOTBOUND: Color Adventures

Privacy Policy

Effective date:

The short version

DOTBOUND: Color Adventures ("the app") is published by Devflovv. The app is a native Android connect-the-dots puzzle game that plays fully offline, with eight worlds, a daily puzzle, events and collections. We collect no personal information and no usage data.

  • We collect no data, and the app sends none to us.
  • If you installed the app from Google Play, it asks the Google Play Store app on your device whether an update is available. See App updates below.
  • No account, no login, no sign-in.
  • No ads, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking, no purchases.
  • No internet permission.
  • Your progress is stored by the app on your device. If you use Android device backup or device transfer, Android may copy it into your own backup or to your new device.

What we collect

Nothing. The app does not collect, transmit or share any personal or usage data, and we never receive your progress or your settings. The app has no player name field and no free text input, and it contains no third-party SDKs that collect data for us. The one Google library it uses, for app updates, is described below.

Permissions

The app does not request the internet permission, so the app itself cannot connect to any server, ours or anyone else's.

It declares two permissions for its own features:

  • Vibration (VIBRATE), for haptic feedback when you play. It is on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings.
  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS), for the optional reminders about the daily puzzle and events. Reminders are off by default, and the app asks for this permission only when you turn them on.

An internal permission added by Android libraries

The AndroidX libraries the app is built with also add one internal permission, DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION. It belongs to the app itself, is limited to apps signed with the same key, and keeps the app's internal messages private. It gives the app no access to your personal information and no internet access.

What is stored on your device, and why

To keep your game going, the app saves the following in its private storage on your device. None of it is sent to us.

  • Your game progress: levels and worlds reached, stars, coins, XP, your power-up inventory, collectibles, streaks and achievements.
  • The puzzle you are in the middle of, so you can pick it up where you left off.
  • Your settings, such as sound, music, haptics, reminders, color palette, dot symbols, reduced motion and the left-handed layout.

Android backup and device transfer

Android backup is turned on for this app. The app has no internet permission, so this is done by Android, not by the app, and only if backup is on for your device.

If you use Android device backup, your device may include the app's game database and settings file in your personal backup. The same two items may be copied when you move to a new device with Android's device transfer. Together they hold everything listed in the section above.

If a backup or transfer is restored, your progress and settings can return, for example after you reinstall the app or set up a new phone.

Whether this happens, and where a backup is kept, depends on your device settings and your backup service. We never receive your backup and cannot view or delete it. Your backup provider, such as Google, handles it under its own privacy policy.

Reminders

Reminders about the daily puzzle and events are optional and off by default. If you turn them on, they are scheduled and created on your device. No server is involved. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app's Settings.

Daily Challenge and events

The Daily Challenge and events use only your device's date and clock to decide which puzzle and which events are available. Nothing is fetched from a server.

Leaderboard and Friends

The Leaderboard and Friends screens are local demos. They show sample names that come with the app, not real people. Nothing about you is sent anywhere, and nothing is received.

App updates

When you open the app, it uses Google Play's in-app updates library to ask the Google Play Store app on your device whether a newer version is available. The app itself still has no internet permission; Google Play handles the check.

To answer, Google Play uses your device's details, the app's version and the app's installed parts. Google states that this data is encrypted, is not shared with third parties and is deleted after a set period. We do not receive it. Google handles it under its own privacy policy.

If a new version is available, the app shows a message offering the update. If you accept, Google Play downloads it in the background while you keep playing, and the app asks you to restart when it is ready. You can choose Later. Copies of the app that were not installed from Google Play do not get this check.

Sharing and selling

We do not share, sell, rent or trade any data, because we do not collect any.

Third parties

The app contains no advertising networks, analytics services or crash reporting services. Its only third-party library that involves data is Google Play's in-app updates library, described under App updates. If you install the app from Google Play, Google handles the download and updates under Google's own privacy policy.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed specifically at children, and it collects no personal data from anyone, children included. The game has no chat, no user-generated content and no free text input. Because nothing is collected, there is no personal information about a child for us to hold, review or delete.

How to delete your data

You can remove the app's data from your device at any time:

  • Use "Reset progress" in the app's Settings. This erases your progress, stars, coins, collectibles and streaks from the device and starts the game again from the beginning. Your settings are kept. It cannot be undone.
  • Uninstall the app to delete all of its data from your device.

Copies in a backup

Neither step above removes a copy already held in your device backup, and we cannot remove it for you. To delete one, use the backup settings on your device or in your backup account.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
